| Tim got the evening's festivities under way in
the usual manner by leading the audience in the "Pledge
To The Flag", after which he introduced the first group
of entertainers. |

E.C. Miller and Goldrush Review kicked off
tonight's entertainment. They played the old Osborne
Brothers tune "Big Spike Hammer", "California
Cotton Fields" which was recorded by Merle Haggard,
and "Orange Blossom Special", the tune that really
had the crowd cheering.
Kenny Price from Mountain City, Tennessee sure can
saw the strings off that fiddle! The band includes a married
couple from Gray Station, Tennessee: Mike Draughn on
mandolin and Joanne Draughn on bass. The group also
has a fabulous dobro player named David Tester that
hails from Bluff City, Tennessee. Boyd Dowell from
Mountain City, Tennessee picked guitar and is the songwriter
of the band. He wrote the beautiful tune "Back to the
Homeplace". |

| Mr. E.C. Miller is well known throughout the
region and was featured on CBS TV's "On the road with
Charles Kuralt" which gained him some national exposure.
The band played "Sunny Mountain Chimes", an
instrumental tune that showcased E.C.'s expert banjo
talents. |

| The second band of the evening was Princeton, West
Virginia's Misty River Band. This band's front man
was Brandon Farley whose intense mandolin style and
vocals are certainly gonna take this young man places. He
also picks mandolin for
The Bluegrass Brothers out of the Salem, Virginia area. |

| The Misty River Band consists of several talented
musicians and singers including Eddie Kales on dobro,
Brian Osborne on bass, Brandon Farley on
mandolin, and Eugene Farley (Brandon's dad) on
guitar. Tim White and Mac Puckett joined the
guys as they treated the audience to some lively melodies,
"Fireball Mail" and "Roll on Buddy" to name a
couple. They ended the show with a lovely gospel number
called "Little White Church". |

Hannah Cox and her father David from
Abingdon, Virginia played at halftime. They played "Get
Rhythm" by Johnny Cash, the Dixie Chicks'
tune "Soldier Boy" and "Strawberry Wine" made
famous by Deana Carter. Hannah is just 15 years old
and she attends John S. Battle High School.
