Tim got tonight's show underway by welcoming the
audience to the Comfort Systems USA Performance Center
and leading us in reciting the "Pledge To The Flag".
He also extended a heartfelt thanks to all of the fine
sponsors who help keep The Pickin' Porch Show and the
Mountain Music Museum going strong.
The Dutton Brothers were the featured performers
tonight, and they treated the audience to about 90 minutes
of great Bluegrass music. "Nine Pound Hammer",
"Little Maggie", "Big Spike Hammer"...they kept
the stage hopping with one great classic after another!
Kody Norris joined Tim and
Mac Puckett for a short, but very enjoyable set
while the Dutton Brothers took a well-deserved break, and as
always the super-talented trio left the crowd wanting to
hear more! Kody and Mac both love to perform, and the folks
at the Pickin' Porch really love it when they come to
town!
Tim invited the jovial Ed Carter back onto the
stage this evening to tell a couple of jokes. Ed is a
natural born comedian, and his facial expressions alone
could make the phone book seem funny!
The lovely and talented Kelly Nelson joined
Tim Mullins and Tim Laughlin on stage to sing a
couple of very beautiful songs: "Cheap Whiskey" and
"Steel Rails" - one of my personal favorites.
It was yet another highly entertaining evening at the
Pickin' Porch as non-stop Bluegrass music and fine
comedy filled the air for the entire two hours. And next
week's show will be outstanding as well when long-time
Pickin' Porch favorite
Lightnin' Charlie brings his magic guitar and
amazing voice to Bristol to entertain us all!
