Highlights from January 4, 2007
The Pickin Porch Show started out with the pledge to the flag led by Tim White. He also reminded everyone about the upcoming Song of the Mountains concert this Saturday night, January 6th at the Lincoln Theatre in Marion, VA featuring No Speed Limit & Cleghorn.

Due to circumstances beyond their control, the scheduled band 4 Fret Chord could not make the Pickin Porch this night but several musicians were on hand to entertain the Pickin Porch audience.

Tim's grandson, Andrew "The Bluegrass Kid" was sporting his new U.T. outfit and entertained the crowd before the show began.

A surprise arrival was a young soloist named Clayton Fletcher who played his guitar and sang. The audience enjoyed his three songs, one of which was an original tune he had written.

The Skinners came and entertained the audience too. These folks are getting better and better. Hats off to the Skinners for continuing to support the Pickin Porch. These folks really do a great job. It's always good to hear them pick.

During the Pickin' Porch the crowd was made aware that Tim's wife, Penny was celebrating her birthday today. James and Barbara Bryant of Bryant Label Co. made up a special banner for Penny and her special day. Tim lead the audience in singing the Happy Birthday song to her. She turned a very pretty shade of red. Lots of folks met at T Gordon's in the Bristol Mall after the show for birthday cake and a party for Penny.

To finish up the evening, Tim joined Mac Puckett & Teddy Helton on stage for several bluegrass tunes. Mac is a very talented singer who really puts his heart into every song.

As always, it was great seeing Teddy take his turn at the mic!

During the set with Tim, Mac & Teddy, Ed Carter came up on stage and proceeded to tell a "Pig Story". It was very funny. Tim promises to have a pig story of his own to tell soon.

It was another great night of fun at the Pickin Porch at the Bristol Mall. Join us there every Thursday night at 7:00 pm!
