| After welcoming everyone to tonight's Pickin' Porch
Show, Tim led the audience in the "Pledge To The
Flag" as usual. Next, he reminded everyone about the
upcoming
Song Of The Mountains concert at the historic Lincoln
Theater in Marion, Virginia. |

| The fine Bluegrass band Highway 11 provided the
entertainment for the entire show this evening. They treated
the audience to one great Bluegrass tune after another while
showcasing their tight instrumentals and perfect harmony.
These guys are excellent musicians and singers, as evidenced
by their wonderful performances of "Kentucky Girl", "Cabin
In The Pines", "Rollin' In My Sweet Baby's Arms"
and many others. |

| Several dancers took to the floor throughout the evening
as Highway 11 played a bevy of great dance tunes! |

| It turns out that Katherine Ratliff was
celebrating her "29th birthday", so Tim invited her up onto
the stage to let everyone know about it. After a couple of
minutes of friendly banter, the members of Highway 11 led
the audience in serenading her with a special rendition of "Happy
Birthday"! |

| Roy Mullins was back again this evening to play a
couple of songs on his harmonica, but before he got started
he took a few moments to engage in a semi-private
conversation with Tim. As always, Roy did an excellent job
on two very pretty songs: "We Live In Two Separate Worlds"
and "Brown Church In The Valley". |

| Tim decided to give the guys of Highway 11 a break by
taking the stage to tell a joke or two. He then invited
Ed Carter to come up and tell one of his own - but he
actually ended up telling two. We were treated to plenty of
great Bluegrass music and a bit of side-splitting comedy all
in one evening! What a country! |

| As usual, Andrew was seen running here and there
throughout the evening, keeping an eye on the band and the
audience to make sure all was well. At one point he even
took a moment to check out a wayward piece of duct tape
on the carpeted floor! |

| The members of Highway 11 sure know how to pick
Bluegrass music, and they did plenty of it tonight. They
even gave the crowd a taste of twin mandolins on a couple of
occasions - and it sounded absolutely wonderful! |

Well, another great time was had by all at The Pickin'
Porch Show this evening, and we'll be right back at it
again next week when Bill & Maggie Anderson team up
with The Skinner Family to pick and sing a lot more
great traditional music! We hope to see you there!
