Welcome to another Pickin' Porch Show. It is with
much sadness that we must tell you of the passing of a
wonderful friend to Bluegrass music as well as the
ACMA and it's subsidiaries. Clarence "Tater" Tate
died on October 17 at the age of 76.
Tater was from Gate City, Virginia, and he had played music
all over the country with such Bluegrass icons as Bill
Monroe, Red Smiley, Hylo Brown, Lester
Flatt, and Earl Scruggs. Please keep Tater's
wife, family and friends in your prayers. The world has lost
a truly remarkable man. |

Most of tonight's entertainment was provided by a band
called Two Step Bluegrass and Country Band from
Elizabethton, Tennessee: James "Sleepy" Miller on
lead guitar, Sarah Jean Miller on fiddle, Mike
Laws on banjo and Marion Dunn on bass. These
pickers delighted the audience with several Bluegrass
standards like "Sunny Side Of The Mountain", "How
Mountain Girls Can Love", "John Hardy" and
country tunes from Keith Whitley and George Jones.
Each week on Fridays (during the warmer months) you can see
these fine folks at Mike's Hot Dog Stand in Bluff
City, Tennessee. The fun starts about 7:00pm. Don't forget
to bring your instruments so you can join in. For more
information check out their site at

| Tim brought along an old pal to the stage
tonight. This large stuffed cow was a gift from Chick-Fil-A.
We'd like to thank Ray Parlier and his staff for
everything they do to help promote and preserve the music of
this region. Thanks Ray! |

| A few of the Pickin' Porch Dancers cut loose to
"Salty Dog Blues"! |

|
Teddy
Helton and
Tim
White offered to entertain the crowd while "Two
Step" took a breather. They did a couple of traditional
tunes "Spinning Wheel" and "Little Ole Log Cabin
In The Lane". The crowd always enjoys when Teddy decides
to sing for us. Tonight he sang two songs: "Linda The
Sweetheart Of My JR. High" and "Trashy Women". |

| Not to be outdone in the comical numbers, Tim
warbled his famous version of "If My Nose Was Running
Money". |
