| Today's festivities got under way a bit early today -
12:00 noon to be exact!
ACMA President Tim White held a press conference
at the
Mountain Music Museum during which he explained what the
new organization is all about. |

| Rita Forrester joined Tim to discuss the close,
mutually beneficial working relationship between the ACMA
and the
Carter Family Fold. In fact, several members of the ACMA
help out at the Fold on a regular basis in order to help
Rita and the gang carry on her late mother Janette's mission
of keeping traditional mountain music alive and growing. |

| Next, two brand new displays were unveiled: a shirt worn
by Bluegrass legend Bill Monroe and a collection of
harmonicas owned and played by Ted Milhorn. |

|
The Boohers provided a generous helping of their
wonderful Bluegrass music for everyone in attendance at the
press conference to enjoy. Later, everyone gathered in the
back to enjoy a tasty lunch provided by "Wild Ray"
Parlier and
Chick-fil-A. |

The Pickin' Porch Show got underway at 7pm with
the amazing
Lightnin' Charlie taking the stage. As always,
Charlie thrilled the crowd with his vast repertoire of great
songs spanning several genres. He picked and sang a number
of classics including "Don't Be Cruel", "Run
Around Sue", "Blue Moon Of Kentucky" and "A
Boy Named Sue".
Lightnin' Charlie is a real crowd pleaser every time he
performs, and he certainly lived up to his stellar
reputation tonight. This man really knows how to entertain a
crowd! |

| The Pickin' Porch Show had a very special guest
in the audience tonight: a very affable fellow from
Liverpool, England by the name of Chris Newman. Chris
recently moved across the Atlantic to accept a position with
Eastman Chemical Company in nearby Kingsport, TN, and
this was his very first visit to the Pickin' Porch! |

| Tim "rounded up" a large stuffed version of the
Chick-fil-A Cow and placed it atop one of the giant
speakers in the Comfort Systems USA Performance Center.
He then proceeded to explain that the cute bovine was
"rustled" away from "Wild Ray" - and that it will
eventually be raffled off with the proceeds going to benefit
the ACMA. |

| The evening was capped off by a wonderful performance by
the
Zephyr Lightning Bolts, a very entertaining Old-Time
band from Zephyr, North Carolina. They did a great job
pickin' and singin' "Cumberland Gap", "Sally
Goodin", "Soldier's Joy" and a number of other
great favorites. The dance tunes were virtually non-stop
throughout their set...and so was the dancing! |

A great time was had by all at the Bristol Mall
this afternoon and evening. We invite you to join us again
next week when the always-entertaining
Whitetop Mountain Band takes the Pickin' Porch
stage!
