| Tim began tonight's show in his usual exuberant
manner by leading the crowd in the "Pledge To The Flag"
and giving thanks to all our service men and women who are
stationed all over the world. |

The opening band tonight was
The Skinner Family, a favorite on the Pickin'
Porch stage. Tonight, Jennifer was under the
weather and unable to participate but Jason, Zayn,
and Alyssa didn't disappoint the audience.
Joined by another "Porch" favorite,
Teddy Helton, they sang and picked tunes like
"Yes Sir Shes My Baby" and "Wildwood Flower". The
Skinners have recently released a new instrumental CD, and
you can check out a sample at
www.skinnerfamilyband.com. |

The
Carter Fold in Hiltons, Virginia is hosting a special
one-time showing of "America's Blue Yodeler Jimmie
Rodgers". This musical has been playing at
The
Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Virginia for the last couple
of months and has been lauded with rave reviews. This show
is Friday, November 16, 2007 at 7:30pm. Log on to
www.bartertheatre.com for ticket information.
This evenings' other band were actually members of different
area bands: Tim White is the banjo player for the
VW Boys... |

These "guys" treated the spectators to a variety of
tunes from the mournful melodies "Cry, Cry Darlin'"
and "Wild Wicked World" to dance numbers "Sally
Gooden" and "Orange Blossom Special".
Lowell Larkin stopped by to promote the upcoming
"Christmas in the Smokies" bluegrass festival in Pigeon
Forge Tennessee. Noted acts scheduled to appear include
The VW Boys,
The
Larkins,
Bobby
Osborne, and
Steep
Canyon Rangers. Check out
the
website to learn more about this fabulous gathering
event! |

The
Song of the Mountains special Christmas show taping will
take place on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 7:00pm at the
Lincoln Theatre in downtown Marion, Virginia. This show will
feature all Christmas music with local acts Drema Pratt,
Josh Lambert, Eddie & Jeremy Atwell, The Riches, Aaron,
Katlin & Keith Litz, Jason & Ashley Litz and Hunter & Eric
Wilson. General admission is just $15.00. Call the box
office at 276-783-6093 for more information.
Well, that concludes another fun night of music and
camaraderie at your local Pickin' Porch. Next week
the stage will remain quiet so that the musicians, ACMA
volunteers, bluegrass/old-time music fans and everyone that
makes our show happen each week can spend this Thanksgiving
Holiday with their families. We thank you for your
invaluable support. May God Bless each and every one of you!
