There was no regular Thursday evening Pickin' Porch
Show this week due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, but
tonight's special Friday edition featuring the
VW Boys
and the legendary
Lost & Found sure made up for it!
The VW Boys kicked off the festivities by pickin' and singin'
a bunch of favorites including "Salty Dog Blues", "Big
Earl" and the very beautiful Larry McPeak gospel
tune "God's Christmas Gift". Of course they also
spiced up the show from time to time with liberal doses of
comedy and magic. |

| Dave Vaught handled the magic chores all by
himself this evening, leaving pals Tim and Larry
to concentrate on the music and comedy. Below is a photo of
a very nice lady from the audience looking on as Dave
nonchalantly burns an envelope containing her $100 bill to a
crisp! But of course Dave is a master magician, so the
endangered cash eventually materialized in a completely
different envelope that he pulled from his inside jacket
pocket! |

The legendary Lost & Found band from Ferrum,
Virginia were up next, and did they ever put on a great
show! The Lost & Found have been performing great Bluegrass
music for decades, and tonight the Pickin' Porch
audience found out first hand just why they have been so
popular for so long!
These ultra-talented fellows performed one great song after
another for over an hour, including "14 Carat Mind",
"Just About Then", "Peace In The Valley", "Blue
Moon Of Kentucky" and perennial favorite "Wild
Mountain Flower For Mary".
If you have never experienced a Lost & Found show in person,
you really owe it to yourself to get out and do so. These
guys really know how to pick and sing Bluegrass music, and
they sure did an outstanding job of it tonight! |

As usual for the Pickin' Porch, a great time was
had by everyone who braved the Friday-after-Thanksgiving
crowds and came on out to the Bristol Mall for an evening of
fine family entertainment. We invite you to join us next
Thursday when the Just Friends Band and Randy &
Debbie Sheets take the stage!
