Hosted by Tim White

Highlights from November 30, 2006
After leading the audience in the "Pledge To The Flag", Tim welcomed everyone to the Comfort Systems USA Performance Center for another great evening of family fun and entertainment. He also showed us the highly coveted Telly Award that his wonderful PBS series "Song Of The Mountains" received after just its first season on the air!

Congratulations to Tim and all the other fine folks who work so hard to put on such a great show!

Randy & Debbie Sheets and good friend Rick Moore kicked off the evening's entertainment with a fine performance of the wonderful Carter Family classic "Keep On The Sunny Side" followed by a long list of other old favorites. These nice folks pick and sing Old-Time music as well as anyone, and they really put on a fine show this evening!

Pickin' Porch favorite Mac Puckett was in for a visit from Atlanta, so he grabbed his guitar and joined Tim White and Teddy Helton on stage for a short, but very entertaining set. Mac is one of the most entertaining fellows you'll ever meet and audiences everywhere can't seem to get enough of him!

Between songs, Mac informed us that he would soon be moving back "home" so we should be seeing a lot more of him before too long.

Teddy took a turn at the mic as well, treating everyone to a very funny rendition of "The Rooster". Everyone knows that Teddy is a fine musician and an overall great guy, but few people are aware that he does sing from time to time. He has been stepping up to the mic a bit more of late, so perhaps he'll get used to it and start singing a song or two every week!

The Just Friends Band finished out tonight's show with a wonderful set featuring several Bluegrass, Old-Time and Classic Country tunes including "Charlotte Breakdown", "Rebel Soldier", and the Jim Reeves classic "Welcome To My World". Just Friends is a group of folks that really live up to their name and the crowd had a lot of fun watching them perform.

The Just Friends Band played several fast-paced dance tunes, and Fred Skeens and a few others took full advantage of them!

It was an action-packed evening at The Pickin' Porch Show with plenty of fine entertainment from start to finish. And next week promises to be quite entertaining as well with not one, not two, but three great acts lined up for your listening pleasure! We invite you to come on out next Thursday and join in the fun!
