Highlights
from November 9, 2006 |
| Tim got tonight's Pickin' Porch Show under
way by leading the audience in the "Pledge To The Flag",
after which he reminded everyone about the next
Song Of The Mountains concert coming up on December 2 as
well as a special Friday (November 24) Pickin' Porch Show
featuring legendary Bluegrass band
The Lost & Found. |

| Jim Lloyd and Hunter Wilson kicked off the
evening's entertainment by pickin' and singin' a number of
old favorites such as "John Henry", "Alabama
Jubilee", "Down Yonder", "Cumberland Gap"
and lots more. Jim even pulled out his trusty accordion,
which turned out not to be so trusty after all since the
keys kept sticking. But they put on an outstanding show
none-the-less! |

| Next, a talented young man by the name of Kenny Wood
treated the audience to a special performance of two very
beautiful gospel songs that he had written: "My Father,
My Friend" and "A Beautiful Love Like You". It
was easy to see that Kenny loves singing about the Lord, and
he does it extremely well. |

| The second half of the show belonged to The Skinner
Family, and as always they did an outstanding job on "Charlotte
Breakdown", "False Hearted Lover", "Gone Home",
and several other old favorites. Jason also announced
that Zane had celebrated his 11th birthday on
November 8. Happy birthday, Zane! |

| The Pickin' Porch audience has grown accustomed
to seeing Roy Mullins play his harmonica most every
week, and as always he was happy to oblige this evening. Roy
did a great job performing the beautiful old tune "Carolina
Moon". |

| In what has become a weekly ritual, Ed Carter
took the stage to tell a joke or two, and as always he had
everyone rolling in the aisles! I guess we can now call Ed
the "Semi-Official Comedian of The Pickin' Porch Show"! |

Everyone seemed to really enjoy tonight's show. There
was something for everyone to enjoy as plenty of great music
and comedy was dispensed by a number of fine performers and
interesting "characters". Join us again next week when the
Old Timer’s Band and Mary Rose & Danny Elswick
take the Pickin' Porch stage!
