from February 15, 2007 |
| Tonight's Pickin' Porch Show got off to a great
start with
Tim
welcoming everyone to the Comfort Systems USA Performance
Center, then leading the audience in the "Pledge To The
Flag". He also took a few moments to provide details
about the upcoming Song of the Mountains and Leon
Kiser Memorial Tribute shows. |

| Leading off the evening's entertainment was
Bluegrass and Beyond, a very talented group of
singers and musicians from Wythe County, Virginia and Mount
Airy, North Carolina. In keeping with Pickin' Porch
tradition, they served up some fine Bluegrass music with
such tunes as "Ole Slewfoot", "How Mountain Girls
Can Love" and the timeless classic "Fox On The Run".
They also did an outstanding job on the "Beyond" part by
wrapping their own brand of Bluegrass around Jimmy
Buffet's "Margaritaville" and The Drifters'
"Under The Boardwalk"! |

|
Kody Norris joined Tim and
Teddy
Helton on stage for a very
entertaining 30 minute set in which they picked and sang a
number of great Bluegrass tunes including "My Walking
Shoes Don't Fit Me Anymore" and the Jimmy Martin
standard "Honey You Don't Know My Mind". It's always
a treat when Kody gets up on stage, and it's easy to see
that Tim and Teddy really enjoy pickin' with him! |

| I suppose we should now consider funny man Ed Carter
to be The Pickin' Porch Show's "official comedian"
since he gets up pretty much every week to treat the
audience to a joke or two - or even more! Ed sure has a
unique way of delivering a joke, and the crowd absolutely
loves him for it! |

| Bluegrass and Beyond re-took the stage to finish
out the last half-hour of tonight's show, and
Mr. Fred Skeens joined a couple of pretty ladies out
on the dance floor on a couple of occasions. Watching Fred
and the other Pickin' Porch dancers kick up their
heels is just as much fun as listening to the great music! |

As usual, tonight's Pickin Porch Show was packed
with non-stop fun and entertainment from start to finish,
and next week promises to be just as exciting as
Addie Keene & Friends make their way onto the stage. Why
not come on out to The Bristol Mall and join in on
the fun?
