Welcome to this week's Pickin' Porch Show. Tim lead the audience in the "Pledge To The Flag", and then he got right down to the business of music!

Tim White

Tonight's band was The VW Boys. These guys are three of the nicest men you'll ever meet and they sure enjoy pickin' and singin' Bluegrass music. Tim White, from Blountville, Tennessee, plays the banjo for the group. He is also host of the Song of the Mountains concert series seen on numerous PBS stations throughout the US.

Larry McPeak, a Wytheville, Virginia native, plays bass for the band. Larry started playing music at an early age and still plays in a band with his brothers. Larry loves to write songs, and he has penned a number of hits for himself as well as for some of Bluegrass and Country Music's most famous acts.

Dave Vaught of Bristol, Tennessee is the guitar player in the group. Dave is a talented musician who even does a magic trick or two during their Bluegrass shows. He also owns Top Hat Magic Supply on 6th street in beautiful downtown Bristol, Tennessee. Visit TopHatMagicSupply.com for more information.

The VW Boys

The VW Boys asked special guest and good friend Mac Puckett to join them onstage this evening. Mac has about the best Bluegrass voice in the region, and the crowd always enjoys it whenever he is in Bristol. Mac's Good Company Band is a great group of guys who work shows and festivals all over the land. Visit www.goodcompanyband.com and check 'em out!

"The Boys" played several original numbers like "Mayberry", "Big Fat Earl" and "The Ballad of Ralph" as well as several Bluegrass standards including "Little Ole Log Cabin In The Lane" and "Salty Dog Blues".

We also had two young ladies by the names of Amber and Ida take the stage. They sang beautiful a capella renditions of "Dust On The Bible" and "How Far Is Heaven".
