Highlights
from March 6, 2008 |
| Tim White opened tonight's Pickin' Porch Show
with the "Pledge To The Flag" and a few
announcements, then he got right down to the business of
music! |

| The first act of the evening was
Robby
Spencer with help from his good friend
Teddy
Helton. These two guys really know how to put on a
great show! Unfortunately, Robby had to shorten his
performance because of a family commitment but he still
managed to pick and sing a few of our favorite tunes before
he had to hurry off. He played "I'm My Own Grandpa"
and my personal choice "Suicide Blues" to mention
just a couple. Check out
Robby's website to find out where he will be playing
next. |

| Teddy Helton also performs with Fire in the
Kitchen, an Appalachian Celtic Band. Teddy is a fine
musician and a great friend to the Pickin' Porch and
lovers of Appalachian music everywhere! |

| The second band of the evening was a bunch of fellows
based out of Springfield, North Carolina called Ted Jones
and the Tarheel Boys. Ted Jones is the front-man
for the group, picking the mandolin and singing lead. He has
also performed on stage with
Jesse McReynolds and the Virginia Boys. |

| The Tarheel Boys consist of Ronnie Jones singing
tenor and playing rhythm guitar, Stan Temple on
banjo, and Cecil Carroll playing the upright bass. |

| This week our very own "Bluegrass Kid" was in
town celebrating his birthday. Happy Birthday Drew! |

Well, that brings to a close yet another great evening
of family fun and entertainment. Join us again next week
when Pleasant Hill Bluegrass, Dixie Rhythm,
and Jeff Orr & Ashley LeBrecque are scheduled to
perform.
