| Highlights
from the last Pickin' Porch Show |
| Tonight's show was a departure from the traditional
Bluegrass music that The Pickin' Porch Show is so
famous for, but it was a very entertaining evening
nonetheless. Frequent guest host (and all around great guy)
Frank Carmack welcomed everyone to the show and
quickly introduced the first guest... |

| Monica Woodward picked and sang in style
reminiscent of the folk music that was so popular back when
I was growing up during the 1960's. This very talented lady
lent her beautiful voice to a number of wonderful ballads,
several of which she wrote herself. Hopefully, we'll be
seeing a lot more of Monica on the Pickin' Porch
stage in the future! |

| Mr. Roy Mullins was up next with his trusty
harmonica, and he did an excellent job playing the beautiful
Carter Family classic "Keep On The Sunny Side".
Roy has seen and done a lot during the long life that God
has blessed him with, and it's great to see that he's still
able to get up on a stage and entertain a crowd. Keep it up,
Roy - We love ya! |

| The second half of tonight's show belonged to Jimmy
Mullins and Ken Childress, two very entertaining
gentlemen from the coal country of Dickenson County,
Virginia. This duo's talents complement each other extremely
well with Ken singing with a masterful voice that is perfect
for telling a story while Jimmy plays along on guitar in a
style that makes you wonder if you're really hearing the
late, great Merle Travis. And they know how to tell a
funny story or two as well! |

The laid-back atmosphere of tonight's show was a
relaxing departure from the usual barn-burning Bluegrass
music that usually fills the chamber of the Comfort
Systems USA Performance Center, and next week's show
promises to be just as much fun when the ever-popular
Robby
Spencer takes the stage. Why not come on out to the Bristol Mall next
Thursday at 7pm and join in the fun?
