Chris Hunter did an outstanding job as guest host again this evening. As always, he kicked things off by leading the audience in the "Pledge To The Flag".

The Moron Brothers took the stage first and entertained the crowd with a slew of original tunes: "The Rooster Song" and "The Story Of A Song" to name just a couple.

They also sang "I've Been Everywhere", a #1 country hit for Hank Snow and picked "Duelin' Banjos", the catchy instrumental made popular in the film "Deliverance". Mike Carr and Mike Hammond aka The Moron Brothers are from Kentucky. Carr (Lardo) plays the banjo and harmonica while Hammond (Burley) plays the guitar. Visit www.themoronbrothers.com to learn more about these guys and how to order CD's and DVDs.

Robby Spencer and Teddy Helton played a few numbers while The Moron Brothers took a well-deserved break. Robby is a very talented musician who plays several different instruments, but he is best known for his "Grandpa Jones" frailing style of banjo pickin'.

Teddy Helton also knows his way around several instruments, but you'll usually see him pickin' his dog-house bass. They picked some unusual tunes for a Bluegrass show - and the crowd loved it! "Listen To The Mockingbird" and "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" are just a sample. You can learn more about Robby Spencer by visiting his MySpace page.

Roy Mullins stopped by to play a few tunes on his harmonica for us. We always enjoy it whenever Roy takes "the porch" by storm!

Chris Hunter obviously admired the tune Roy was playing...

The Moron Brothers came back on stage for a second set. They picked some more of their original songs like "If My Nose Was Running Money (I'd Blow it All on You)" and "Sticky Situation". Teddy and Robby joined them on the wonderful tune "Cannonball Rag".

Well, that brings us to the end of another fun evening at the Pickin' Porch. Stop by next week when Acoustic Heritage and Banjo Joe & Kinfolk provide another two hours of wonderful family entertainment.

P.S. The Pickin' Porch gang would like to say a big "Howdy!" to Joan & Marvin Diver of Palatka, Florida!
