Highlights from April 5, 2007
In keeping with Pickin' Porch tradition, Tim kicked off tonight's show by leading the audience in the "Pledge to the Flag" and announcing that we will unveil the William "Billy" Sage exhibit next Thursday night at the Pickin Porch. Tommy Freeman and Tennessee Skyline will provide the music.

He also reminded folks about the Larry Sparks concert for Song Of The Mountains this Saturday night at the Lincoln Theatre in Marion, VA. He also mentioned the fundraiser for Tater Tate at the Pickin Porch on Sunday, April 15th from 3:00 till 5:30 pm. The music will be provided by members of Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys Reunion.

The ever-popular Lightnin' Charlie got the musical entertainment underway by pickin' and singin' a number "Lightnin'" favorites. Charlie is one of the most accomplished and entertaining performers you will ever see, and if you have never had the opportunity to see him performs live you're really missing out on a special treat!

Next up was "Cute Little Mac Puckett", another Pickin' Porch favorite. With Tim and Matthew Cruby pickin' along, Mac had the audience clapping and laughing all through his short, but entertaining set!

Jim Gates took the stage next and sang a couple of wonderful classic country tunes for the appreciative crowd.

Rounding out the evening was one of the region's finest Bluegrass bands: Appalachian Trail. When it comes to razor sharp instrumental work and flawless vocals, no one does it better than these fine singers and musicians! The audience showed their appreciation for tonight's performance with virtually no-stop applause.

It was another great evening at The Pickin' Porch Show, and next week promises to be just as much fun when Tommy Freeman & Skyline provides the music for a special show featuring the unveiling of the Mountain Music Museum's new William "Billy" Sage exhibit. We invite you to come on out and join us!
