Highlights
from the May 1, 2008 |
| Chris Hunter opened this week's show by leading
the audience in the "Pledge To The Flag" and letting
everyone know that Pine Ridge Bluegrass would be
unable to make their scheduled appearance tonight due to an
accident involving one of the band members. |

| Ashton Blaylock & Friends took the Pickin'
Porch stage this evening. Ashton is a well-mannered and
very talented 15 year old from Bristol, Virginia. Tonight,
most of the tunes he played were contemporary country songs
like "I Was Almost Home" a recent hit for
Craig
Morgan and "I Cross My Heart" by superstar
George Strait. |

| Scott Blaylock joined Ashton on bass. Scott is
Ashton's father and they perform together all over the area. |

| Randy Jackson, one of the Birthplace of Country
Music's premier fiddlers, also accompanied Ashton. |

| We thank Ashton Blaylock & Friends for coming out
tonight and supporting the Pickin' Porch. Be sure and
go see this young man when he's playing at a venue near you! |

Join us again next week when Back Porch Pickers and
Banjo Joe & Kinfolk are scheduled to appear.
