After welcoming everyone to tonight's show, Tim
led the audience in the "Pledge to the Flag" before
reminding everyone about several great upcoming events
including the next
Song Of The Mountains concert and the 33rd annual
Carter Family Memorial Festival & Craft Show (click
here to view the festival schedule in PDF format).
Jackie Kincaid & Friends picked and sang a number of
great Bluegrass and Classic Country favorites as well as a
number of great original songs. Jackie is an outstanding
singer, mandolin picker and songwriter in his own right, but
he is perhaps best known for performing alongside Bluegrass
legend Larry
Sparks as part of his Lonesome Ramblers band.
Clarence Kelly showcased his fine guitar work and
powerful singing voice on several great songs, a number of
which he penned himself. It's easy to tell that Clarence
loves to perform and he did an excellent job tonight on the
Pickin' Porch stage!
Don Hill stepped up to the microphone throughout
the evening and treated the crowd to plenty of barn-burning
banjo pickin' on such great tunes as "John Henry" and
"Train 45". Each and every one of Jackie's "friends"
did an outstanding job performing some of the best music to
ever eminate from the Pickin' Porch stage.
Ed Carter was back again tonight with yet another
dose of his side-splitting corn-pone humor. Ed has quickly
become a crowd favorite, and he always leaves everyone
wanting to hear "just one more"!
Teddy Helton joined Tim on stage to pick a
few tunes while Jackie and the gang took a well-deserved
break, and as always the dynamic duo did an excellent job at
keeping the crowd well-entertained.
The ever-bashful Teddy reluctantly stepped up to the mic
and sang "Behind The Barn", a whimsical tune that
always leaves the audience laughing hysterically...
especially when Teddy sings it!
It was another fine evening of fun and family
entertainment at The Pickin' Porch Show with plenty
of great music and comedy to satisfy each and every person
in the crowd. We invite you to join us again next week when
we'll do it all over again!
