Highlights from the last Pickin' Porch Show
The always-friendly Frank Carmack filled in for Tim tonight, and as always he did an outstanding job making sure everyone was having a great time at The Pickin' Porch Show!

A young fellow by the name of Banjo Joe kicked off the evening's entertainment with some fine clawhammer banjo work and some pretty darn good vocals to go along with it on several old favorites including "Rabbit In The Log", "Bear Tracks" and "High Cotton". Even though he is just 7 years old, it's quite apparent that this young man has the potential to go a long way in the music business!

After leaving the audience with their mouths wide open with amazement, Banjo Joe gave way to his Kinfolks: mom, dad, grandpa and grandma! And after hearing these wonderful folks pick and sing a few great tunes like "East Virginia Blues" and "God Gave Noah The Rainbow Sign", it was easy to see that Joe comes by his talents honestly!

Next up was The Looping Brothers, a fine Bluegrass group that hails from all the way across the pond in Germany! For the better part of 90 minutes, this talented trio treated the audience to a bevy of traditional and original Bluegrass tunes including "Gotta Do My Time", "Long Black Veil" and others. They even crooned "Long Gone Lonesome Blues", complete with some fine yodeling that would have made old Hank proud!

It's great to know that Bluegrass music has become extremely popular worldwide and that folks from many other countries are performing it with the same heart and soul as the wonderful singers and musicians who live right here where it all began!

Guitar virtuoso Wayne Henderson happened to be in attendance this evening, and he graciously agreed to join his friends The Looping Brothers on stage to "pick a few" with them near the end of their long set. No one knows their way around a guitar better than Wayne, and he sure did a fine job showing off his fingerpickin' skills this evening!

The evening's festivities included several pleasant surprises, and a wonderful time was had by everyone who made it out to the Comfort Systems USA Performance Center. We invite you to join us again next week when Mr. Bluegrass Kody Norris will take the stage to offer up plenty of his exceptional brand of traditional Bluegrass music!
