Highlights
from July 12, 2007 |
| Frank Carmack did the honors as host this
evening, and tonight he kicked off the show by asking a
surprised Huey to lead the audience in the "Pledge
to the Flag". Huey graciously complied, after which
Frank proceeded to remind everyone about the next
Song of the Mountains concert coming up on August 4. |

With
Teddy
Helton helping out on bass, The Skinner Family
took the stage first this evening, and as usual they gave
outstanding performances on a number of old favorites
including "Ragtime Annie", "Wildwood Flower",
"Rawhide" and a lot more.
It's always great to see and hear the Skinners perform, and
it's simply amazing how far they have come since they first
started performing together in public just a short while
back. They say practice makes perfect, and in my book
Jason, Jennifer, Zayn and Alyssa
are getting pretty doggone close to it! |

| Everyone seems amazed at how well young Zayn and his
little sister Alyssa play their instruments these days, but
it's really no wonder they have become so good, so quickly.
After all, they happen to be learning from one of the very
best Bluegrass pickers in the business: their dad! |

| The ever-popular Greg Cornett finished out
tonight's show with his usual blend of fine guitar and banjo
picking, outstanding whistling and wonderful singing. Greg
is a master at performing the wonderful Appalachian Mountain
music that folks in our region love so much, and he is
always a big hit every time he steps onto the Pickin'
Porch stage! |

Tonight's show featured two hours of outstanding family
entertainment, and next week's show promises to be just as
good with The Revelations, Kenny Wood and
The Ball Sisters Band all taking the stage on the same
evening! Why not come on out to the Bristol Mall this
Thursday and join us for all the fun?
