After welcoming everyone to The Pickin' Porch Show
and leading the audience in the Pledge Of Allegiance,
Tim got right down to business by reminding us all
about the upcoming
Song Of The Mountains concert featuring Paul Williams
& the Victory Trio, Larry Sparks and several
other fine groups and performers.
It sure promises to be a great show, and Tim invites
everyone who loves Bluegrass and Mountain music
to come on out to the
Lincoln Theatre on September 2 and join in the fun! |

| Most of the evening's entertainment was provided by
The Fritts Family, a very talented and highly
entertaining group from Rogersville, Tennessee. The Fritts
Family is famous for spirited vocals and superb instrumental
work, and tonight they treated the audience to an extra
helping of both of them on the old favorites "Wayfaring
Stranger" and "Simon Crutchfield's Grave" as well
as several outstanding original songs. |

| After thrilling the audience for about an hour, The
Fritts Family took a well-deserved break while
Teddy
Helton and Tim joined
Robby
Spencer on stage for what turned out to be an
extended set. In addition to Robby's usual joking around and
his very entertaining pickin' and singin', the crowd
received a treat that no one would have ever expected... |

| Teddy stepped up to the mic and told "The World's
Shortest Fairy Tale", an oft-told little story that
Robby likes to tell. Well, actually Robby told it again
tonight while feeding the lines to Teddy, one-by-one. It
took quite a bit of coaxing by Robby and Tim to get Teddy to
the microphone, but everyone really enjoyed hearing him
speak...again! |

| The Fritts Family came back on stage after Robby and the
gang had finished up, and I must say their second set was
even more entertaining than the first! Sarah Fritts
sings with a voice so powerful that she doesn't really need
a microphone - and her fiddle work isn't bad either! |

| Sarah's brother Jeremy Fritts enthralled the
crowd with some of the finest guitar pickin' I've ever
heard. Watching and listening to Jeremy work his magic on
his guitar strings was a lot like eating grandma's cookin' -
one helpin' just ain't enough! It's a good thing the Fritts
Family is hosting the annual
Bluegrass In The Smokies festival the weekend of August
24 - 26 because Jeremy and the gang is one of the featured
groups! |

Tonight, The Fritts Family teamed up with Robby, Teddy
and Tim to put on one of the most entertaining Pickin'
Porch shows ever. We invite you to come on out to the
Comfort Systems USA Performance Center next Thursday
when
Damascus, Virginia native Charlie Holliday and
his fine band Free Grass will put on a great show as
always!
