| Highlights
from September 20, 2007 |

| Wayne and his friends Bill Williams on
bass and Herb Key on guitar came from North Carolina
just to play on the Pickin' Porch stage. |

| We relished such fine tunes as "Otto Wood the Bandit"
based on a true story from 1931 and a Carter Family
medley featuring "The Sunny Side of Life", "You
are My Flower", and "Wildwood Flower". |

| Next up we had a favorite band return to the Pickin'
Porch: The
Skinner Family Band from Bluff City, Tennessee. We
were very disappointed that Alyssa was under the
weather and did not join them on stage but
Teddy
Helton agreed to lend a hand by playing bass. The
Skinners always put on a great show and this week was no
exception. They played the Don Reno number "Reno
Ride" and crowd pleasers "Lime House Blues" and
"Bye Bye Blues". Great job guys! |

Last but, certainly not least, were
The Fall Creek Band sponsored by Appalachian
Community Federal Credit Union. The band consists of
Ronnie Vaughn on guitar, Janice McCombs on bass,
Audie Ratliff and Savana Vaughn on vocals and
fiddle.
Savana is naturally adept at the fiddle and her vocals are
decidedly mature for a 14 year old young lady, and Audie is
a well known mandolin craftsman as well as an expert
musician. The group thrilled us with such melodies as the
Flatt & Scruggs song "I Just Think I'll Stay
Around"
and a gospel tune by the Lonesome River Band entitled
"Listen To The Word Of God". |

Come by next week and join us for another evening of
music and friendship with The Skinner Family Band
(including Alyssa we hope) and The Sigmon Stringers
from Newton, North Carolina.
