ACMA Honors Farm and Fun Time at Leon Kiser Concert

The Appalachian Cultural Music Association (ACMA) will present the 13th Annual Leon Kiser Memorial Tribute Concert at the Paramount Theatre in Bristol, Tennessee-Virginia on Saturday evening February 28th at 7:00 p.m.
 
The ACMA honors both living and deceased contributors to the music of the Southern Appalachian Region each year at this concert and will be recognizing many interesting and deserving people.
 
Fey Rogers and Bob Smith who started WCYB Radio and the Farm and Fun Time program will be honored along with Curly Seckler who served as mandolin player and tenor singer for Flatt & Scruggs.
 
Also being honored are Clarence "Tom" Ashley who recorded for Victor and Columbia as part of the band the "Carolina Tar Heels", and Larry Blevins who was good friends with Leon Kiser and plays with the "Virginia Mountain Boys".
 
A full list of great bands will be performing on this show including the Kiser Family, Curly Seckler, the ETSU Bluegrass Band, Beth Stevens & Edge, Jeff Orr & Wildwood Rhythm, Breaking Tradition, Kody Norris, the Holston Mountain Boys, Tim White, Larry & Mike McPeak, Kenny Price, the Virginia Mountain Boys and the Mountain Rhythm Cloggers.
 
WCYB TV5's Johnny Wood will help emcee the program along with Tim White and Dave Carter. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased at the Paramount Theatre Box Office(423-274-8920) or at the ACMA's Mountain Music Museum(276-645-0035) located in the lower level of the Bristol Mall.
 
All proceeds from the show will go to the Benny Sims Scholarship Fund at ETSU in Johnson City, Tennessee.
