Pickin' Porch February 26, 2009

Tim White got this week's show started in usual fashion by leading the crowd in the pledge to the flag.

 

The Kelley Nelson Band took the Pickin'' porch stage first tonight. They played numerous bluegrass standards like " Clinch Mountain Backstep" and "Angelina Baker" and sang an a capella gospel tune that lead vocalist Kelley Nelson penned entitled "Want You Go With Me". Members include Kelley Nelson from Castlewood, Virginia, Tim Mullins playing guitar also from Castlewood, Virginia, John Vandiver on mandolin of Coeburn, Virginia, Kris Rasnake playing banjo of Honaker, Virginia and Will Wright from St. Paul, Virginia on bass.

Next up were Bryan Osborn & the Ashe Mountain Boys. They treated the crowd to tunes like "9lb Hammer" and "Train 45" and finished up their set with the gospel anthem "Amazing Grace". Members include Bryan Osborn playing guitar, Paul Hardy on mandolin, Teddy Helton on bass, and Tim White playing banjo.
