Pickin' Porch April 2, 2009

Tim White opened the show with announcements about the upcoming shows at the Carter Family Fold www.cartefamilyrfold.org and the Song of the Mountains www.songofthemountains.org.  Be sure and check out their websites for future performances and festivals.

Adam McPeak & Mountain Thunder www.adammcpeak.com from Wythe County entertained the crowd tonight. They played lots of bluegrass standards including "John Henry", "Ole Joe Clark" and "Foggy Mountain Breakdown".

Adam McPeak, age 13 headed up tonight's band and played mandolin...

Stephanie Gibson, age 15 played banjo and was featured on the song "Steel Rails"...

Mike McPeak (Adam's dad) played guitar and is better known as one of the "McPeak Brothers"...

David Chrisley, age 11 played bass and was featured on the tune "Foggy Mountain Special"...

Steve Chrisley (David's dad) played banjo and was highlighted on the number "Shuckin' Corn"
