Pickin' Porch June 11, 2009

Tim White was back hosting the show tonight and got things started by leading the audience in the pledge to the flag.
The Minton Family Band from Bluff City, Tennessee was first up tonight. They sang lots of great bluegrass tunes and even gave a short musical history lesson to the kids from the Summer Reading Program of the Bristol Library- Avoca Branch. They were visiting the "Porch" for the first time. Band members include Danny, Garrett, Jessie and Erin Minton.
The Scott County Boys took the stage next. Kenneth Davis of Weber City, Virginia played guitar, Steve Edwards from Kingsport, Tennessee played fiddle, David Roller of Mt. City, Tennessee played banjo and Andy Blevins from Bristol played bass. They entertained the crowd with a mix of bluegrass instrumentals and standards.
Ethan Ferguson, an 11 year old from Norris Tennessee joined in with part of the Scott County Boys and treated everyone to several great bluegrass fiddle tunes and a couple of Carter Family autoharp numbers.
That wraps up this Thursday's show.
