Highlights from June 12, 2008

Charly and Diamonds in the Rough were the first group to take the stage tonight.



Charly Markwart is the lead singer and plays mandolin. Charly, originally from Michigan, just graduated Bluefield College and has adopted the Birthplace of Country Music region. She even wrote a song about how much she enjoys living down here entitled "I Found Home".


Gary Dalton played guitar and autoharp. He was featured during the traditional gospel tune "What A Friend We Have In Jesus".

Bob Bailey played the banjo. He was featured on the instrumental number "Home Sweet Home".


Charlie Ashworth played fiddle and was showcased on the song "Ashoken Farewell".

Mike Rocchetti picked the bass and rounded out the group.



Charly and Diamonds in the Rough will be at the Pipestem Resort State Park in Pipestem, WV on June 21, 2008 at 8:00pm and Christopher's Pizza in Meadows of Dan, VA on June 22, 2008 AT 2:30.

Bryan Osborne and the Ashe Mountain Boys took the stage and started off with "Train 45".


Bryan Osborne sings lead and plays guitar. Bryan loves to sing Jimmy Martin tunes and he treated the crowd to "Maryann".

Rachel Johnson stepped in and played fiddle tonight. You can normally find Rachel picking with the popular band The Dixie Bee-Liners.


Anthony Bales played the mandolin. He was featured on the gospel tune "A Few More Seasons Is Yet To Come".


Daniel Bussel played the doghouse bass.


Sam Morrow picked the banjo. Sam is an Art Instructor at the William King Regional Arts Center.
