This week Chris Hunter filled in for Tim White. He started the show by leading the crowd in the "Pledge to the Flag". Everyone gave an appreciative salute to all our servicemen and servicewomen throughout the world.

The Pickin' Porch Show had a special treat this week. Michelle Cupit from Nashville, Tennessee brought her band up to the Birthplace of Country Music to share the Pickin' Porch stage. Michelle has a brand new album out on Cupit Records and played several tunes included on it.

Michelle grew up in Texas, but now hails from Nashville, Tennessee. She not only sings and plays instruments but she is quite the songwriter too. She co-wrote the title cut to her "Bluegrass Baby" album along with her husband/producer. One of her musical influences is Patty Loveless. She sang "The Boys Are Back In Town" found on Patty's "Mountain Soul" CD.

Jim Reynolds played mandolin for the group. He co-wrote the tune "Kentucky Rose" and treated the crowd to a fantastic sample of his songwriting and vocal skills.

Laurie Canaan played the fiddle for the band. She showcased her impressive fiddling skills on a song entitled "That Old Fiddle On The Wall", a number about Michelle Cupit's father.

Tom D'angelo played bass and comes from New York City. Lately he's been touring with Steve Azar and Bob Seger all over the United States.

Lester Ray Sears played guitar for the group. Lester Ray grew up in Giles County, Virginia and moved to Nashville in 2006.
