Tim White was back this week, and after a few announcements he got things started by leading everyone in the "Pledge To The Flag".

First to take the stage this evening were Jim Lloyd & Friends.

Jim Lloyd, a well-known barber from Rural Retreat, Virginia played banjo for the group. Jim is documented by the Smithsonian Institution as a representative of Southwest Virginia mountain music and storytelling.

The Pickin' Porch's own Teddy Helton helped out on bass. Teddy is a member of local bands Fire in the Kitchen and Fast Train.

Playing guitar was Coy Ryan. Coy also hails from Rural Retreat, Virginia. His guitar skills were showcased on the tune "Handsome Molly".

Trevor McKenzie played mandolin, banjo and the "saw". We were treated to several numbers that featured the saw including the Pat Boone hit "Moody River".

Next up was Wheeler, a Bluegrass-Gospel group from the Weber City, Virginia area.

Tiffany Wheeler sings lead vocals and wrote some of the songs they performed. "He's God" was especially moving.

Justin Salyer played the guitar. He was featured during a medley of "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Amazing Grace".

Mark Jackson played mandolin for the group. Mark's fantastic mandolin licks shined during the tune "Angeline The Baker".

Kevin Wheeler picked the bass for the band. Kevin wrote some of the songs the audience was treated to tonight including the a capella number "Heaven Gained Another Soul".
