Tim White kicked off this week's show by leading the audience in the "Pledge To The Flag" and reminding the crowd about some of the upcoming musical events happening in our region.

First to take the Pickin' Porch stage was master musician and luthier, Wayne Henderson from the Mouth of Wilson, Virginia area. In addition to pickin' a few tunes, Wayne even told a couple of "true stories" that kept the audience in stitches.

Wayne brought along two of his buddies from Wilkes County, North Carolina. Herb Key helped out on guitar and Bill Williams rounded out the group by playing the bass. They picked several Carter Family standards including "You Are My Flower". They also played Wayne's version of "Take Me Out To The Ballgame", a special tune that you must hear if you ever get the chance!

Nina Ketron & Friends took the stage next to entertain the Pickin' Porch crowd. Nina's friends included Jim Carter (guitar), Dan Dalton (banjo & dobro), Eric McMurray (fiddle & mandolin) and Willie Cradic (guitar & harmonica). This great group treated everyone to songs like "Whoa Mule", "Nashville Skyline Rag" and the beautiful "Consider The Lilies". If you get an opportunity to go see these folks, don't pass it up!
